Good bye my friend. I love you and will miss you.

I'm dying right now. I just had to let a family member and best friend go. I had to let Puddin go this afternoon after 12 years together; he was 2 when I got him. Good bye my friend. I love you and will miss you.

I have a heavy heart; I feel so bad. Puddin would sleep on my lap and watch TV with me. He would tuck me into bed at night and wake me in the morning. Puddin was a very sweet kitty and I miss him dearly.

I will get his ashes back and his paw prints in clay. I will keep them on the fireplace mantle or on the knickknack shelf.

I will get another cat but first I'll have the house professionally cleaned then replace the litter box with a brand new one.

When iPhone eMail keeps opening to an old eMail

On my iPhone 8+ the email app will occasionally get confused such that it keeps opening to an older email message. When this happens I have to press the Back link to return to the inbox. It's annoying when it happens. It doesn't happen all that often, but often enough.

To fix the issue on my iPhone 8 Plus:

1) Open the email app and navigate back to the Inbox.

2) Simultaneously press and hold both the Home button and the Boot button (on the right side,) hold both buttons for a few seconds.

3) Simultaneously let go of both buttons. This should cause the email app to minimize and run in the background. If it doesn't, repeat step 2 until it does. It should not take a screen shot.

4) Press and hold the Boot button. Swipe right when prompted.

5) Wait a few seconds before rebooting the phone.

6) Give the phone time to reconnect to WiFi and to your cell provider.

7) Open email and see if that fixed the problem. It works for me on my iPhone 8 Plus, IOS 16.7.11.

The missing cataracts

I had cataract surgery on my right eye this morning. I had the left eye done 2 weeks ago. Last week I did a simple experiment; I closed my right eye then looked at a white wall with my left eye. The wall was a bright white, but when I closed my left eye and looked at the wall with my right eye, the wall was noticeably darker and had a brown tint to it. I'll repeat the experiment next week once my right eye has healed.

I made a video about a rock.

This is a rock called Biotite granite. It is a medium-grained, all crystalline rock with pink feldspar, gray quartz, and specks of black biotite - a type of mica found in igneous and metamorphic rocks.

Biotite mica is a composition of annite, phlogopite, siderophyllite, fluorophlogopite, fluorannite, eastonite, and many others.

Biotite is a rock-forming mineral found in a wide range of crystalline igneous rocks such as granite, diorite, gabbro, peridotite, and pegmatite.

Biotite has limited commercial use but may be as a filler in paints and drilling mud or as a non-stick coating on shingles.
